As a Lead Quality Engineer – Cypress Automation, you will make an impact by driving high-quality software delivery through robust testing strategies, automation frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, including developers, DevOps engineers, and product owners.
· Lead and execute both manual and automated testing efforts to ensure software meets the highest quality standards.
· Design and maintain UI automation frameworks using Cypress and Selenium WebDriver with Java.
· Develop and execute API automation using Rest Assured and integrate with cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS services.
· Collaborate with development teams to review requirements, create effective test cases, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
· Explore and apply Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance automation and testing strategies.
· Apply Prompt Engineering techniques to optimize AI model outputs for real-world applications.
· Troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline issues and support DevOps practices across environments.
· Contribute to Agile Scrum ceremonies and support geographically distributed teams.

· 9 + years of experience in software QA, including both automation and functional testing.
· Hands-on experience with Java and Selenium WebDriver.
· Expertise in UI automation using Cypress and API automation using Rest Assured.
· Strong knowledge of AWS services (S3, SNS, SQS, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Lambda, Parameter Store).
· Proficiency in SQL and experience with Snowflake.
· Experience enabling DevOps practices and managing CI/CD pipelines.
· Solid understanding of SDLC, QA methodologies, and testing tools.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, and Prompt Engineering.
· Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and working with distributed teams.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
· Client-facing experience and coordination skills.

· Are familiar with Agentic AI validation techniques.
· Have experience with MCP (Model-Centric Programming) approaches.
· Can apply AI-driven testing strategies to improve coverage and efficiency.

The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
