Our Americas Distribution & Service Division (ADSD) provides governance and administration of Cat® dealers across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.

As the Learning & Development Partner, you will lead the design, implementation and support of people and organizational development initiatives and practices.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Peoria, IL (United States)
  • Required Travel: Up to 10% (Domestic)

What You Will Do:

  • Maintaining processes for assessing and reviewing changing business needs for professional skills, leadership, and organizational development programs.
  • Designing programs for learning and development initiatives which support business goals.
  • Providing consulting services on design and development of solutions for professional skills gaps, leadership, and organizational development problems and issues.
  • Implementing programs with efficient use of resources, including working with vendors and technology solutions, to achieve learning goals aligned to business objectives.
  • Evaluating existing curriculum or learning solutions and recommending appropriate approaches for improving the quality, cost, and value of development programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.


What You Have (Basic Requirements):

  • Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Instructional Design: Knowledge of relevant instructional design concepts and processes; ability to design instructional content to meet the learning needs of a target population.
  • Training Delivery: Knowledge of methods and tools of training delivery; Ability to deliver learning solutions for desired training outcomes.
  • Training Needs Analysis: Knowledge of tools, techniques and methods of training needs analyses; ability to identify what people need to learn for successful individual and organizational performance.
  • Training Solution Development: Knowledge of training solution development procedures, tools and techniques; ability to utilize the knowledge for developing a solution to stated training needs.
  • Training Technologies: Knowledge of training tools and techniques; ability to utilize software, technologies and applications for the creation and development of training programs and processes.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree in learning & development operations.
  • Prior exposure to learning & development systems/operations.
  • Previous financial management experience.
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all process partners and customers at all levels.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
