What You’ll Do
Passionate about online speech, intellectual property, and user rights? As a Legal Policy Intellectual Property Agent, you are at the forefront of these challenging issues, expertly managing policy enforcement, advocating for user safety, and maintaining trust in X’s terms of service globally, and specifically focusing on the competencies of Copyright, Trademark, DMCA, and Counterfeit legal and safety matters.
As X continues to ideate new products, applications, and integrations for our users, advertisers, and content creators; the Legal Policy Intellectual Property team is currently at the cusp of a new frontier when it comes to preserving IP, DMCA, Copyright, and Counterfeit legal matters on the platform. The reason for this is to maintain the integrity of the application, preserve the relationships we have with our advertisers, and promote safety and security for our daily users. This team is currently in the midst of building up the Intellectual space at X, where opportunities for policy optimization/development, new workflow creation, and training are happening now, and something you will be a part of.
You will process DMCA removal requests (allegations of copyright infringement), field incoming complaints using internal tools, and analyze data to decide upon the appropriate resolution. You will also be required to handle other legal removal requests from start to finish (Counterfeit and Trademark), including document intake, processing, and follow-up. A proactive attitude and exceptional attention to detail is absolutely essential, as is the ability to be both firm and fair. We're a passionate team of intensely motivated, detail-oriented folks, seeking the same to join us!
Of critical importance is an analytical mind, the ability to balance out both sides of the complaint, and the confidence to decide upon the right path for resolution. Legal training is not a prerequisite for this position, however a background in IP, Copyright, Counterfeit, or Trademark would be advantageous.
