About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in San Antonio, Texas as a Logistics Analyst Lead for the Industrial Power Systems Division. As an analyst, you will support our Supply Chain operations, by monitoring and analyzing production run times to identify potential delays in product shipment. In this role, you will serve as the communication link between operations and customers, ensuring timely updates on delivery schedules and proactively address disruptions. In addition, you will develop a strong understanding of both internal and external conveyance processes to optimize material flow, support on-time delivery, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.

What you will do:

  • Analyze production run rates throughout the facility and provide feedback to the customer
  • Communicate with transportation carriers and setup pickups and/or shipments
  • Complete material reports to send out communication on material and functional area metrics
  • Collaborate with other departments for problem-solving and process improvement
  • Champion the adherence to safety guidelines as well as 5S, a system that helps organize and maintain a productive work environment
  • Provide process-related information and escalation of issues to the Logistics Manager, engineers, and/or maintenance departments
  • Use manufacturing or inventory systems (i.e. PLEX and MAMM) for inventory finished goods reconciliation
  • Operate sit down forklifts to move materials within the facility
  • Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
  • Follow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions
  • Execute daily work assignments and special projects directed by the Logistics Manager
  • Maintain effective communication within the team and across departments
  • Assisting in leading various team meetings for the assigned area
  • Perform other assigned duties

What you will have:

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in warehouse/supply chain work environment, leadership experience or relevant college degree or combination of experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
  • Intermediate experience with computers, inventory management software, and Excel
  • Flexibility in shift and/or value stream assignments
  • Initiative and willingness to speak up

What would make you a top candidate:

  • At least 2-years’ experience in inventory management or supply chain working environments
  • Previous experience in data analytics within a supply chain working environment
  • Intermediate understanding of internal and external conveyance
  • Lean manufacturing experience or Six Sigma Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Summary Pay Range:

$21.65 - $27.80
