Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in Software Development.
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture and testing/launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience in leading technical project strategy, Machine Learning (ML) design, and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
  • 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Partners and Devices product portfolio and an understanding of how AI can be leveraged.
  • Experience in working with distributed teams across multiple time zones, fostering strong communication, collaboration, and a sense of shared purpose even in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to work with teams, including product managers, Machine Learning software engineers, and other stakeholders, to drive AI adoption and integration.
  • Ability to build relationships globally, ensuring collaboration between local and US-based teams to deliver AI-driven solution.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Build comprehensive ML driven evaluations for AI systems (on-device, server based, private compute and Hybrid)  and critical user journeys, designed to be adaptable across various applications across P&D
  • Build infrastructure and tooling needed to support evaluations across P&D and drive visibility on performance at an exec level 
  • Build ML-based Auto raters for easy creation, execution scaling and evaluation.
  • Improving the scope and quality of datasets and Upstreaming new datasets and evaluations to Gemini OneRecipe (when applicable).
  • Leverage SWE Agents to create agentic flows that automate evals creation and TL a high performing team
