Mainframe developer

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing legacy systems, analyzing business requirements, and delivering high-quality code in a structured environment.

Key Skills:

• COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM
• CICS (optional but preferred)
• Experience with Mainframe tools like File-AID, Abend-AID, and TSO/ISPF
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
• Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Endevor, Changeman)

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, code, test, and implement changes to mainframe applications
• Perform impact analysis and provide estimates for development tasks
• Collaborate with business analysts and QA teams to ensure smooth delivery
• Support production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Document technical specifications and maintain code quality standards

Requirements:

• 5–12 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe development
• Strong understanding of batch and online processing
• Experience in financial, insurance, or telecom domains is a plus
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Agile/Scrum experience preferred
