Role Definition:

As a Maintenance Team Leader you will lead a team responsible for the site facilities and infrastructure including planned preventative maintenance, installations and site projects.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead safety risk assessments.

  • Take breakdown report calls and allocate jobs across the team.

  • Monitor preventative maintenance performance.

  • Identify opportunities for predictive maintenance.

  • Route cause analysis on any issues raised within your area of responsibility.

  • Ensure all works are recorded and asset history is built within CMMS System

  • Hold daily start of shift meetings.

  • Coach team members.

  • Culture - reinforce Caterpillar's Values in Action.

  • Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW's).

  • Respond to unforeseen quality, staffing, safety and production matters, liaise with Production Manager with an immediate corrective action plan.

  • Adhere to the Company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.

  • Undertake training and further learning as required.

  • Support the implementation of robust documented process for planned maintenance and the implementation of dynamic risk assessment processes

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Expertise: Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment across both electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions to technical issues.

  • Autonomous Work Ethic: Demonstrates initiative and reliability when working independently, with minimal supervision.

  • Team Collaboration: Works effectively within cross-functional teams, contributing to shared goals and fostering a cooperative work environment.

  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Willing and able to adjust to changing priorities, including availability for out-of-hours work when required.

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Clear and professional communicator, capable of conveying technical information and collaborating with colleagues at all levels.

  • Organizational Skills: Able to manage tasks efficiently, prioritize workload, and maintain accurate records.

  • Instruction & Procedure Compliance: Skilled in reading, understanding, and following detailed verbal and written instructions and technical documentation.

  • Continuous Learning & Development: Open to ongoing training and development to stay current with evolving technologies and industry standards.

  • Willing to work a multi-shift system

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in using PLC based systems

  • IOSH Managing safely

Job Title: Maintenance Team Leader

Salary: £39,000 rising to £43,250 once fully competent
