Your expertise will guide the development of cost estimates and budgets, monitoring financial performance while identifying opportunities for cost optimization across various initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Establish and sustain a comprehensive cost planning and estimating framework to guarantee precise budgeting and cost evaluations for business unit assets.
- Collaborate with the Development Team to implement strategies aimed at enhancing cost efficiency throughout the asset design phase.
- Organize value engineering workshops, as required, to investigate cost-effective design alternatives.
- Perform regular cost assessments and deliver actionable financial insights to stakeholders within the business unit.
- Work closely with Design Consultants and subject matter experts to acquire accurate cost-related information.
- Provide guidance and support to team members regarding cost planning methodologies and best practices.
- Identify and propose cost reduction opportunities in conjunction with the Development Team, ensuring no compromise on project quality.
- Aggregate cost data from various sources to assist in budget forecasting and benchmarking initiatives.
- Examine construction cost trends by reviewing ongoing contract data, local market dynamics, and industry research to contribute to medium- and long-term financial planning.
- Assist in the development of budgets by incorporating recent bidding data, historical costs, and design modifications, while promoting continuous enhancement in cost estimate precision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7-9 years of experience in cost planning or financial management within construction or real estate sectors.
- Strong understanding of cost estimation techniques, budgeting processes, and financial analysis.
- Proficient in project management software and cost management tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a sharp attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
