Job Description

Primary Function of Position

The purpose of the Manager, Market Access and Custom Analytics (MACA) is to develop and execute applied health economic patient access strategies and tactical change management plans for the Intuitive Sales Organization and the Healthcare customers in Italy.  Externally, this position will work with regional health systems in Italy to demonstrate the applied clinical, financial and operational feasibility of Intuitive technologies by developing real world evidence business cases from client provided data. The scope of work for the MACA consulting services would include DaVinci Program Value Analysis, Infrastructure Optimization and co-developing strategic Growth initiatives to address regional patient access challenges. Internally, the position will be an influential health economic and patient access advisor and full business collaborator to various ISI  cross-functional leaders including but not limited to sales, marketing, digital product teams, professional educational, and program services teams, health economics & outcomes research, clinical affairs, regulatory and legal. Together the Manager and these ISI and applicable Distribution colleagues will develop strategies for messaging or product development targeted for specific P5 (patient, physician, provider, payer & policymaker) customer segments. To best serve external and internal customers; experience in executing services contracts, acquiring client data, advanced analytics, project management skills, remote team environment and peri-operative change management are an absolute must.

Essential Job Duties

  • Increase patient access to Intuitive technology by removing access, belief and coordination constraints thru consultative advanced analytics of partnered healthcare organizations, in concert with the ISI direct and Global Distribution commercial team focused on Italy.
  • Develop cost consequence modeling, utilization analyses, cost effectiveness valuing, time value and motion, throughput and budget impact of patient access constraints or clinical pathway variation as it relates to ISI technology deployment.
  • Identify regional best practice references to incorporate into Intuitive robust peer-to-peer education programs regionally across Italy and Europe where applicable.
  • Build strong relationships with regional authorities within the local health units to ensure economic value story is adapted to local incentives.
  • Ability to navigate among different healthcare systems, both public and private, and agility to adapt economic tools for each payment system
  • Provide regular voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback on clinical, financial and operational challenges being faced by regional healthcare stakeholders via partnering with sales, marketing, digital product teams, professional educational and program services teams, health economics & outcomes research, clinical affairs, regulatory and legal to generate ideas on how all Intuitive products and prototypes can serve as a solution to these issues.
  • Assist product teams in discovery, defining, development & delivery of products.
  • Work collaboratively to improve patient access via collaborating with: hospitals, IDNs, Health Systems, ASCs, AMCs, physician groups, managed care organizations, public and private insurers, physicians, professional societal groups, and policymakers.
  • Present internally monthly on goals and progress with customer strategies

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Fluent in English and Italian required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • A degree (Masters or Doctorate ideal) with 5+ years’ experience in: peri-operative leadership, healthcare consulting, EHR IDN account manager, market access, health economics, or strategy development is preferred.
  • Recognized as a top performer within matrixed teams and a proven record of accomplishment for patient care redesign efforts
  • Experience in health care analytics, economics, clinical selling, marketing, health policy, reimbursement, payer strategies or health care consulting
  • Extensive broad based experiences and knowledge on: Italian provider/physician/policy and payer challenges and trends, health systems, hospital inpatient settings, clinical care pathways, health economic strategies, market development, aligning with hospital business development and marketing teams.
  • Considerable experience and comfort in presenting strategy recommendations via real world evidence for hospital operators or senior healthcare executives in meetings.
  • Perform regional broad-based patient access constraints assessment and highlight meaningful regional influences and trends with little direction.
  • Developing regional/European “thought leaders” and key subject matter expert relationships through interactions with societies, hospitals, surgeons & payers to increase economic evidence for Marketing peers.
  • Solid understanding of clinical pathways, peri-operative staffing and surgical treatment approaches for both hospital inpatient settings and alternative sites of care.
  • Extensive knowledge of regional market data sources, Business Intelligence platforms, exploratory and explanatory analysis, data visualization methodologies.
  • Experiences in LEAN, Kaizen, or management consulting are highly desired.
