Job Summary:

Caterpillar’s Cat Technology group is searching for a Product Support Manager to lead and manage product support deliverables for our new technology product development programs.

The role is focused on implementing technology support strategies for our construction industry dealers and customers by partnering with Caterpillar’s digital, product group, and component design and service teams. Additionally, the role will work with global marketing and other partner organizations to drive resolution for global support issues in the Cat Technology construction industries product portfolio.

The position is suited for individuals that are looking for opportunities for increased leadership, global team collaboration, and exposure to all of Caterpillar’s machine product groups.

What You Will Do:

• Lead, manage, and support New Product Introduction (NPI) program product support deliverables to achieve business goals.
• Own the product support NPI process to meet program goals related to process improvements, field follow deliverables, and solution high impact commercial issues
• Lead support focused projects that include cross functional members within the organization to achieve business goals
• Potential for direct report leadership as the team scales and grows

What You Will Have:

Problem Solving:

• Identify and document specific Cat Technology problems and resolution alternatives
• Examine specific problems for Cat Technology and understand the perspective of each involved stakeholder.
• Develop alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information for Cat Technology issues.
• Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decisions on resolution.
• Use fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems, and recommend any new diagnostic alternatives that would be helpful to resolve issues.

Lead Service Excellence:

• Provide and lead technology projects with a quality of service that customers describe as excellent.
• Resolve and document common customer technology problems in designated target timing.
• Respond to unexpected customer technology requests with a sense of urgency and positive action, communicating proactively to ensure alignment.

Technical and Analytical Excellence:

• Engage appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.
• Mentor Cat Technology team members to enhance their technical competence and its application to achieve more effective technical solutions.
• Coach Cat Technology team members in promoting, defining, analyzing, and providing superior technical solutions to business problems.
• Provide effective solutions to moderate technical challenges through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
• Participate in gathering and analyzing data based on requirements.
• Document data from various sources and in various formats.
• Utilize basic data collection and evaluation tools and techniques.
• Assume accountability for personal technical performance of Cat Technology product issues

Considerations for Top Candidates:

• 6 Sigma Green Belt experience
• Proven project leadership
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Experience with telematics, site grading technologies, or safety sensing systems
• Product/customer support or quality related experience

Additional Information:

• This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week at the Mossville, IL or Clayton, NC office.
• Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$144,960.00 - $217,320.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
