Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in people management with leading a team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a thought leader and team lead or people manager in an investigative, anti-abuse environment (e.g., content abuse, spam, or other behavioral abuse).
  • Ability to work in a changing industry and manage ambiguity while minimizing uncertainty through quantitative insights.
  • Ability to lead a team to manage problems, structure analysis, and drive impact.
  • Excellent business judgment, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Excellent investigative skills with the knowledge of YouTube and user safety.

About the job

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring that the content is appropriately enforced, providing better experiences for users and ensuring YouTube remains an inclusive and safe platform for all. You will review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. You will require on-call work on weekends on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage people management, mentoring, and coaching experience to lead a global team of experts. Work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours as business demands require
  • Work with the global vendor operation leads to provide the direction and resource allocation for the Content Review operations.
  • Prepare presentations and communicate initiatives to management and to the organization.
  • Liaise with policy, Public Relation (PR), and Legal teams to craft and implement process solutions to emerging trends.
  • Manage relationships with partnering Product and Engineering teams on product launches, including tools and classifier development, research and experimentation, and data and analytics.
