As a Mechanical Estimator at Primech Building Services, you will play a critical role in the bidding process for mechanical engineering projects. Your expertise in cost estimation, project scope analysis, and meticulous attention to detail will ensure that we remain competitive and profitable in all our project endeavors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse project documents including drawings, specifications, and client requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems.
- Prepare detailed and well-organized quotations for submission to clients, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct thorough market research to gather information on material costs, labor rates, and market conditions.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify risks and opportunities in project bids.
- Assist in preparing bid submissions and presenting estimates to management and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates and submissions for future reference and analysis.
- Continuously evaluate and improve estimation processes and methodologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanical estimator in the building services or construction industry.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, processes, and regulations.
- Experience with estimation software and tools.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
- Full UK driving license, as travel may be required.
