The Electrical Technician shall provide and functional support and design assistance for the Engineering team with an emphasis on:

  • Review and understanding of System design drawings, Electrical Connection diagrams, one-lines, P&ID’s and Mechanical Layout Drawings;
  • Layout, Wiring, Installation, and Commissioning of Industrial Panels and Systems;
  • Review and understanding of electrical panel layout and connection drawings;
  • Site installation support and issue resolution;
  • Testing and validation of system operation;

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform daily Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) for all shop and field work.
  • Generation of daily reports and logs for on-going site work;
  • Wiring and termination of control panels in the Shop and in the field.
  • Red-line of Electrical drawings for as-builts;
  • Creation of site conduit routing and installation detail drawings and parts lists per NEC code requirements;
  • Calibration, testing, and loop checks for site instrumentation.
  • Generation of commissioning and startup reports including site testing and calibrations;
  • Participate and/or conduct daily safety briefs while working on-site;
  • Proactively close all open punch list items pertaining to the electrical installation scope as fast as possible.

Requirements

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Working understanding of industrial codes, including: NEC, CE, CSA, ASME, AWS, ANSI, API, ISA, and OSHA;
  • Electrical process design including specification and selection of: Electrical and Control components, Low Voltage Power distribution (480 VAC/120 VAC) and process control instrumentation;
  • Wiring, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of Industrial Electrical and Control Systems;
  • Installation and commissioning of Motor Controls, MCC’s, and VFD’s;
  • PLC logic: Ability to open programs and force points, preform I/O checks, and conduct basic troubleshooting. Allen-Bradley platform preferred;
  • Familiarity and ability to read/understand Piping and Instrument Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Electrical Schematics, and Control Logic Diagrams;
  • Ability to calibrate and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments.
  • Familiarity and ability to use test equipment including: DMMs, Process Calibrators, HART Communicators, insulation testers, and temperature calibrators.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Estimated travel is ~50%;
  • Associates Degree and/ or Military training with desired experience preferred.
  • Must hold US Citizenship or legal work permit for the US to apply.
  • Experience with Gas Turbine applications, gas compression sites / equipment and drilling equipment all desirable.
  • A minimum of 7 years related industry experience required
