About The Team & Role

The Retail KYC team’s mission is to uphold the highest standards of compliance and integrity for Bitstamp’s retail clients by implementing robust processes for client due diligence and ongoing monitoring. Our programmatic approach ensures that all retail client profiles remain aligned with evolving regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, safeguarding the platform from financial crime and supporting a seamless client experience.

As a member of the Retail KYC team, you will be responsible for conducting Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and periodic reviews for high-risk clients, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. You will engage directly with clients to collect and verify documentation, monitor for suspicious activities, and help maintain accurate client records, supporting Bitstamp’s commitment to regulatory excellence and client protection.

What You'll Do

• Handling customer requests for account opening/ Performing account reviews of customers according to Policies and procedures
• Handling complex cases with the assistance of more senior agents (in coordination with compliance department).
• Assisting and advising junior agents.  
• Assigning cases to junior agents.    
• Basic training of junior agents.  
• Communicating with clients and different departments to ensure smooth customer onboarding.
• Providing improvement/suggestions to existing processes.
• Processing daily screening cases.  
• Processing due diligence requests from various business partners.
• Senior agents review level 2 escalations and provide feedback on those cases.
• Senior agents provide technical feedback, help form procedures and write or update procedural guidelines.

What You Bring

• Good knowledge of English language (written and verbal)
• Good communication skills
• Reliability, sense of responsibility
• Good analytical skills
• Basic knowledge of KYC / EDD procedures
• Strong functional knowledge of requirements associated with AML
• Understanding of rules, regulations and regulatory requirements
• Police clearance certificate
• Experience in financial services KYC/AML roles
