Operations Coordinator - 1st Shift

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for an Operations Coordinator at our Walbridge, Ohio Tubular Components location. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities around 5S workplace organization, assist with maintaining the BLM LT7 Laser and assist with other assigned tasks as needed. Ensure all procedures and work instructions are followed, while working safely and efficiently to obtain the operating goals of Cleveland-Cliffs.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to ensure an environment that is conducive for employee involvement in developing and improving 5s workplace organization.
  • Ensure all facets of the Safety program are being followed by all employees.
  • Learn and maintain the BLM LT7 Laser cutting machine.
  • Communicate timely and accurately.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule including an occasional weekend.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Coordinate and support Safety and 5S activities including corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow through for assigned projects
  • Able to maintain cost controls and research cost effective alternatives.
  • Present and implement new ideas improving 5s workplace organization.
  • Lead repairs on the BLM LT7 Laser cutting machine.
  • Work with outside contractors onsite and through remote access.
  • Adapt and prioritize changes in assigned tasks.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or comparable experience required.
  • Experience in 5s workplace organization preferred.
  • Complete the BLM LT7 Laser Operator and Maintenance training program.
  • Operation of aerial lift, boom lift and scissor lift.
  • Strong time management skills with ability to promote teamwork, and lead by example.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent Attendance record
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
