Work Schedule: 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday with core hours between 9 AM – 5 PM EST

We’re hiring a COO for Pearl—which places top 1% talent from around the world into operational roles at startups and incredible orgs. Seven years ago we grass rooted campaigns convincing the hungry, sharp operators join some of the best tech and mid market companies growing fast.

We’ve bootstrapped our company to millions in revenue and running profitability within our first year. We’re now on year three with 10x growth in the last calendar year. My cofounder is a 3x founder as well. Pearl was born out of a 3 year project solving our own hiring needs for our last tech companies. This has given us a unique and differentiated view into how to hire and retain the best talent and then build a business model that fits around the north star goal of hiring. Our competitors build a business product maximizing profit — we build to maximize career trajectory, work hard play hard fun, and 2-3x growth for the individual and companies we partner with. For this reason, we’re winning big.

This is a completely WFH opportunity, where you’ll come in and help us lead and set the direction of our fast-growing company. We’ll need someone who can work ET hours.

About the role:

We are looking for a COO to help lead and scale our fast-growing company. You will be the operational backbone, driving strategic execution, ensuring we maintain our culture at scale, and making sure every part of Pearl is running at peak performance.

This is not a “steady-state” role. We are moving fast, and you will be working directly with the founders to build infrastructure, teams, and processes to support hypergrowth.

Metrics Accountable For

• Company revenue growth and profitability targets
• Client retention and satisfaction rates
• Talent placement success and retention rates
• Operational efficiency metrics (time-to-fill, process optimization KPIs)
• Team performance and engagement scores

Purpose of Your Role

Help our department heads lead their departments with speed, precision, and quick iterations. Remove founders involvement in week to week department work so they can build one year into the future while you guide the day to day.

Requirements

Key Experiences We’re Looking For

• 3+ years in senior operations or leadership roles, preferably in startups or high-growth companies
• Proven track record of scaling teams and operations 0→1 and 1→10+
• Experience managing P&L and driving profitability while maintaining quality
• Background in recruitment, staffing, or professional services is a plus
• Experience working with global teams and remote-first environments
• Deep understanding of building culture in fast-moving companies

Areas of Responsibility

• Operational Leadership: Build and optimize systems, processes, and teams to ensure scalability.
• Financial Management: Oversee budgets, revenue targets, and cost structures to maintain and grow profitability.
• Client Success Alignment: Ensure clients have an exceptional experience and that our talent matches drive measurable results.
• Team Building: Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performance team aligned with Pearl’s values.
• Strategic Execution: Work directly with founders to translate vision into action, prioritizing key initiatives and ensuring they’re executed at a high level.
• Culture Stewardship: Maintain and scale our “team over everything” culture as we grow rapidly.
