SUMMARY:
- The Physical Education Aide supports certified PE teachers in the supervision and instruction of physical education classes. This position focuses on ensuring student safety, assisting with class activities, preparing materials and equipment, and providing appropriate supervision, especially in settings requiring same-gender supervision such as locker rooms.
- The hourly Physical Education Aide pay rate to work on assignment with Susquenita School District is $17.00/hour.
- 5 days of Paid Time Off (prorated based on hire date).
- Employer paid clearances and TB screening!
- The Physical Education Aide will work 182 days following the academic calendar year.
- Current need is for a female candidate to support settings requiring same-gender supervision such as locker rooms.
OPENINGS FOR '25-'26 SCHOOL YEAR:
- Susquenita High School, 7:30am - 2:30pm
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist PE teachers in implementing daily lessons, activities, and fitness programs
- Supervise students during PE classes, including warm-ups, sports, games, and cooldowns
- Monitor and supervise female locker rooms to ensure safety, order, and privacy
- Help to prepare, set up, and clean up equipment and materials for PE activities
- Support the instruction and reinforcement of physical fitness, sportsmanship, and health principles
- Provide assistance to students with special needs or those requiring additional guidance
- Enforce school and safety rules during PE periods and transitions
- Accompany students to and from locker rooms or activity areas when needed
- Report any injuries or behavioral concerns to certified staff promptly
Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with adolescents in an educational or athletic setting preferred
- Ability to model and promote healthy, active lifestyles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to lift/move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and be physically active throughout the day
- Respect for student confidentiality and ability to follow school policies
