The Platform Product Manager is responsible for defining, delivering, and optimizing digital platform solutions that enable operational excellence across manufacturing sites. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this role ensures the adoption and integration of innovative technologies to drive measurable improvements in safety, service, cost, and quality performance metrics.
As the custodian of the platform roadmap, the Platform Product Manager champions the implementation of foundational, advanced, and digital solutions, while ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and aligned with GSK standards. This role is pivotal in unlocking business value through continuous improvement, leveraging data and analytics, and fostering collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Roadmap Development:

  • Owns and develops the platform roadmap, aligning with organizational priorities and site-specific needs, while benchmarking against industry best practices.
  • Collaborates with site senior leadership teams (SLTs) and other stakeholders to define long-term platform strategy and prioritize initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.

Product Delivery & Value Optimization:

  • Leads the delivery of platform solutions through agile methodologies, ensuring alignment with business needs and maximizing value delivery.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT/OT groups, and site leaders, to design, implement, and optimize platform capabilities.
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess platform impact on site performance and continuously refines solutions to enhance outcomes.

User Experience & Capability Building:

  • Champions user-centric design and usability across platform solutions, capturing feedback and driving improvements to ensure optimal adoption and value realization.
  • Develops and executes training initiatives to build Tech capability across site teams, addressing skill gaps and fostering digital literacy.

Data & Analytics Advocacy:

  • Advocates for the integration and adoption of Data & Analytics tools to enable data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Partners with site teams to deliver actionable insights and drive continuous improvement through platform-enabled analytics capabilities.

Security, Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensures all platform solutions adhere to GSK security and compliance standards, minimizing vulnerabilities and safeguarding IT/OT networks.
  • Collaborates with site Automation and OT teams to implement robust security practices and maintain platform integrity.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Industry Partnerships:

  • Builds relationships with external vendors, universities, and industry partners to stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies.
  • Engages with internal GSK functions to ensure alignment and leverage shared resources to optimize platform delivery.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Manages platform budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize return on investment and deliver against site needs.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education:

  • Degree in Science, Engineering, Computing, or a similar technical discipline.

Minimum Job-Related Experience:

  • Proven experience delivering and optimizing platform solutions in operations-driven environments.
  • Expertise in current marketplace technologies and familiarity with GSK Tech applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to share best practices, develop capability, and champion the use of digital, data, and analytics solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and critical controls for quality and compliance.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in both direct and matrix environments, combining technical, business, and project management skillsets.
  • Practical knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or TOGAF.
  • Strong communication skills, relationship-building, and influencing capabilities.

Additional Skills/Background:

  • Knowledge of Cyber Security principles and GSK standards for secure IT/OT networks, with the ability to collaborate on security initiatives.
  • Expertise in product usability, providing feedback to development teams to enhance platform effectiveness and user experience.
