Role Overview

Reporting to the Sewell Drax Site Manager, the Plumber will be responsible for the maintenance of the water systems at the Selby Drax Site. The Plumber will be multi-skilled and keen to support the wider team in the general maintenance of and repair of the building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reactive and planned maintenance on hot and cold water systems
  • Responding to all allocated job requests for customers at Drax
  • Multi skilling is an essential requirement to assist in the general maintenance and repairs to building fabric and associated equipment as necessary
  • Liaise with and manage external contractors as an when appropriate to meet the needs of the business
  • Identification and reporting/repairing of defects and maintenance requirements on site
  • Health & safety duties; ensuring that any property worked in or attended is operated in a safe and legally compliant manner at all times

Requirements

Essential:

  • City & Guilds Plumbing qualification (including water regulations)
  • Have a positive and professional attitude
  • Have a proactive attitude towards maintaining buildings at a world class quality level
  • Hold excellent communications skills and the ability to liaise with clients & subcontractors
  • Possess good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks
  • Possess a positive approach to learning, development and progression
  • Have a trade background or good practical core skills together with previous maintenance experience
  • Have a flexible outlook towards hours worked (some out of hours working may be required)
  • Have working knowledge of current Health and Safety practice
  • Hold a full driving license, valid in the UK

Desirable:

  • First Aid trained
  • Legionella training
  • Confined space trained
  • WIAPS Approved Plumber
  • Unvented hot water system qualification
