We’re working with a dynamic and fast-growing council in inner western Victoria that’s making significant investments in major capital works. With several key infrastructure projects entering critical delivery stages, they’re now looking to bring on board a seasoned professional to oversee contract governance and project controls across a varied portfolio.

About the Role

This contract position offers a unique opportunity to take a hands-on leadership role in driving the successful delivery of high-profile community infrastructure. Working within a well-regarded team, you’ll bring structure, oversight, and clear reporting to ensure complex projects progress smoothly through the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead contract administration, milestone tracking, and payment approvals

  • Implement and manage project control frameworks, risk registers, and reporting tools

  • Engage with senior council officers and delivery partners to maintain alignment and resolve issues proactively

  • Monitor budgets, timelines, and contractor performance, providing regular updates to key decision-makers

  • Support governance and compliance through all stages of the project lifecycle

About You

  • Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure projects in a project controls, contracts, or PMO leadership role

  • Background in local government or public sector capital works preferred

  • Strong skills in contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and risk management

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and maintain oversight of complex programs

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field

  • Current Driver’s Licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card) required
