Portfolio Prioritisation Specialist - 12-Month Contract

Are you an expert in infrastructure portfolio investment and prioritisation frameworks? A 12-month contract opportunity is available for a Portfolio Prioritisation Specialist to join a major government department's Infrastructure Services Division. This role is crucial for a business transformation initiative aimed at uplifting the maturity of business practices.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of a Portfolio Prioritisation Framework. You will work closely with senior leaders and planning teams to foster disciplined, evidence-based prioritisation across the capital portfolio.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting frameworks and methodologies to support the development and implementation of a Portfolio Prioritisation Framework.

  • Providing expertise in infrastructure portfolio planning within a government context, including demand forecasting and transparent prioritisation of capital investments.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to assess current practices, define new criteria and processes, and develop tools to improve transparency and alignment in investment decisions.

  • Advising and influencing senior executives and government stakeholders.

  • Building organisational capability through the development of tools, templates, and training materials.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, from front-line staff to executives. You should have a proven ability to drive practical change and results.

Desired qualifications and experience include:

  • Qualifications in Asset Management, Project Management, Infrastructure Planning, Business, Economics, or related fields.

  • Experience in government infrastructure investment planning or capital portfolio management.

  • Experience applying prioritisation models or decision-making frameworks in an infrastructure or planning context.

  • Experience working in complex organisations or government agencies.
