Procurement Officer

Our local government client is seeking a proactive and detail oriented Procurement Officer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a busy working environment, where you'll quickly gain exposure to multiple tenders, varying in size and complexity. As a key member of the team, you'll play an instrumental role in contributing to the long-term success of the council. Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the end-to-end procurement process for various transactions at different lifecycle stages.
• Assist the Procurement Lead in implementing and monitoring procurement systems and practices to ensure compliance and probity.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to manage the high volume of procurement needs.
• Prepare, publish and manage procurement documents using relevant e-tendering and automated systems in line with legislation.
• Work across business units to deliver value-for-money outcomes, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.

The successful applicant will require:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience that demonstrates a strong understanding and capability in procurement.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience or knowledge of local government legislation is beneficial, but not essential.
