The Product Manager will be accountable for defining the strategy and solution roadmap used for 3rd party training models. This role is critical for ensuring effective and efficient management of third-party models to support customer and business goals. The Product Manager will be responsible for managing and fostering relationships with third-party vendors and internal departments to support and enhance the development of synthetic models for cutting-edge Intuitive products such as the da Vinci Surgical System and the Ion Endoluminal System. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership, communication, and product management skills, ensuring seamless integration of synthetic models across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor and Relationship Management:

  • Oversee relationships with third-party model manufacturers and material science vendors.
  • Manage forecasting and order processes.
  • Act as the liaison between vendors and internal customers at Intuitive.
  • Test and provide feedback on new model and material designs using Intuitive products.

Point of Contact for Third-Party Model Needs:

  • Identify synthetic model requirements across different Intuitive departments, including but not limited to sales, marketing, and clinical engineering.
  • Collaborate with business development, legal, and third-party vendors to develop scope of work documentation and legal contracts.
  • Manage schedules for prototype delivery and testing.
  • Gather feedback and data on new synthetic model prototypes and materials.

Material and Model Development:

  • Work closely with ATM material scientists to develop innovative materials and models.
  • Guide new material needs and collaborate on model designs for in-house production.
  • Test in-house materials and designs and provide feedback for enhancements.

Product Support:

  • Create and manage product roadmaps
  • Responsible for creating marketing and training materials for new synthetic models.
  • Monitor product performance, customer feedback and manage product issue resolutions.

Supply and Forecast Management:

  • Oversee forecasting and supply chain for third-party and in-house synthetic models.
  • Provide support for inventory replenishment orders.
  • Develop solutions for global product distribution.

Product Development and Documentation:

  • Create and manage documentation for new and existing products.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies to manage product releases and changes.
  • Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure global export compliance of new materials and models.

Support for ATM Models:

  • Offer support for both new and existing biologic ATM models as required.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Solid knowledge of the MS Office product suite.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, material science or related field.
  • Experience with da Vinci and Ion systems preferred.
  • Experience with product management, project management, and continuous improvement initiatives,
  • Experience building business cases using qualitative and quantitative data to secure funding, resources, or project/program support.
  • Experience investigating and defining complex problems prior to solution development.
  • Experience with market research, voice of customer feedback, voice of service feedback, or equivalent.
  • Formal or informal leadership of cross-functional teams to implement/launch key initiatives.
  • Critical thinking skills, creativity,  attention to detail, and experience with data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to develop and present impactful presentations for cross-functional audiences, director/VP-level leadership, and global stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships and partner closely with key stakeholders.
  • Results orientation with ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
  • Self-directed with awareness to proactively seek advice when needed.
  • Ability to work with biologic materials.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong team player with humility and a collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to travel 25%

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1:$185,200 - $266,600
Base Salary Range Region 2: $157,400 - $226,600
