About the role

As a Project Manager, you will make an impact by driving project execution, resource planning, and governance reporting across multiple initiatives. You will be a valued member of the delivery and operations team and work collaboratively with Program Managers, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead project resource allocation and forecasting to ensure optimal team utilization and delivery success.

  • Track and report project progress, risks, and milestones using tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Support Program Managers in managing project tasks and resolving resource conflicts.

  • Develop and present governance reports to senior management for strategic decision-making.

  • Collaborate with teams across functions to ensure alignment and timely execution of project deliverables.

Work model: Hybrid – from the United States only

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Buffalo Grove, IL. What you need to have to be considered

  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Scrum Master.

  • PMP, Agile PMP, or SAFe Agile certification.

  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.

  • Proven experience in resource allocation, demand forecasting, and ramp-up/ramp-down planning.

  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for executive presentations.

  • Familiarity with project management tools such as SharePoint, Rally, and Rational Team Concert.

These will help you stand out

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to manage problems and resolve resource conflicts proactively.

  • Experience presenting in governance and senior leadership forums.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $129,500 to $152,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
