Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector  to join our growing team. Reporting to the   Supervisor, Quality Engineer, the Quality Inspector will review and evaluate certifications, parts, and services for compliance with applicable specifications and established standards.

This role is on our 2nd shift from 2:30PM - 11:00PM

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain inspection reports.
  • Perform FAI, in-process, final part, and raw materials inspections.
  • Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
  • Document/Record all inspection/evaluation results using visual, dimensional methods and standards on company documentation forms/records.
  • Tag and segregate non-conforming materials as discovered, and generate required non-conforming reports as necessary.
  • Review and evaluate certifications parts/services for compliance with applicable specifications, purchase order requirements, and established standards.
  • Maintain and enforce material traceability using material stamping and marking.
  • Maintain the Integrity of the quality control documentation system.
  • Maintain attention to detail and completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Communicate all ideas for process improvements or tooling to the Quality Engineer.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of inspection and production experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Solid understanding of test and measuring equipment (micrometers, dial indicators, CMM, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts, including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
  • Understanding of ISO and AS9100.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and 3-D models.
  • Understand and have a working knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information written and oral.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good knowledge of the methods of machining.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent visual acuity to perform detailed inspections and quality control tasks.
  • Ability to accurately distinguish a wide range of colors, which is essential for success in this role.
  • U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations.

Salary Range $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage.

Work Environment

The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
