Job Summary:

As a Sales Support Engineer TL you will provide technical and commercial sales support for Caterpillar Switchgear products. This includes assisting Outside Sales personnel and dealers with product application, and quotation support. You will manage your own workload, delegate projects to team members, and serve as the primary point of contact for technical escalations. Additionally, you will monitor the completion of team assignments and contribute to the creation of processes and training materials, some of which may be delegated to team members for execution.

What you’ll do:

  • Balance workloads across team members by assigning projects based on complexity and individual skillsets.
  • Support skill development to enable team members to handle complex project requests.
  • Facilitate team meetings and guide the team toward timely goal completion.
  • Identify appropriate product offerings based on customer quote requests.
  • Review customer drawings and specifications, providing clarifications, exceptions, and deviations as needed for bids.
  • Use design configurators to create conceptual switchgear layouts that integrate with costing tools.
  • Apply costing tools to generate pricing for custom applications.
  • Develop comprehensive sales proposals.
  • Upon quote acceptance, initiate Order Entry tasks to transition projects to the execution teams.

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen your own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Team Management: Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.
  • Product Design: Knowledge of product features; ability to develop estimates and proposals for design and build from concept through to production.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
