About the Position

This is a part-time (15 hours/week), unpaid internship beginning in October 2025. The Content & Programming Intern will play a key role in shaping Sam’s user-facing experiences, ensuring our content and resources are thoughtful, emotionally resonant, and practically useful. This role supports the Head of Content & Programming in refining the structure, voice and quality of Sam’s platform content – from wellness tools to caregiving resources to live events.

You’ll contribute to editorial development, tool co-creation, and Expert onboarding, as well as testing and refining user flow and content strategy across the platform. This role is perfect for a creative and mission-driven storyteller who finds joy in shaping thoughtful content and crafting meaningful experiences—and is excited to learn and grow within a fast-paced, purpose-led startup.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Editorial Support – Assist in reviewing, editing, and formatting user-facing tools and products to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with Sam’s voice and standards.

Tool Co-Creation – Support the development and refinement of co-created content with subject-matter expert volunteers, ensuring adherence to established templates and tone.

Programming Support – Help plan and execute our Speaker Series, including event logistics, communications, and post-event follow-ups.

Content QA & Platform Consistency – Contribute to quality assurance efforts, reviewing content for formatting, tone, and navigation consistency across the site.

User Feedback & Iteration – Help synthesize qualitative feedback from user focus groups and assist in turning insights into actionable improvements.

Expert & Contributor Onboarding – Support documentation and onboarding processes for new contributors, ensuring they understand Sam’s content framework and editorial expectations.

What You Will Gain

  • Mentorship from a seasoned leader in emotionally intelligent content strategy and user-centered design.
  • Exposure to the full content lifecycle – from ideation and co-creation to quality assurance and user feedback loops.
  • Hands-on experience shaping a digital platform that impacts real women navigating complex life transitions.
  • A robust portfolio of writing, editing, and content development work in a high-visibility, early-stage venture.

Who You Are

  • A graduate or current student with 5+ years of hands-on experience in areas such as:
    • Editorial writing, blog content, newsletters, or digital publishing
    • Content strategy or UX writing for websites, apps, or digital tools
    • Curriculum or program design, especially in wellness, or women-focused spaces
    • Event programming or support for speaker series, workshops, or learning experiences
  • A thoughtful communicator with strong attention to tone, clarity, and emotional nuance—able to adapt language to meet users where they are.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to follow editorial guidelines, track multiple projects, and provide helpful feedback to peers and collaborators.
  • Curious, empathetic, and user-focused, with a desire to learn how to craft digital content and experiences that resonate emotionally and deliver practical value.
  • Proficient with Google Suite and collaborative workflows; bonus if you’ve worked with design tools like Canva, or contributed to building a digital platform.
