Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. IPSD Large Engines seeks a Senior Accountant in Seguin, TX to support Machining Operations at the two IPSD machining facilities in Schertz and San Antonio, TX. This role will require splitting time between all three South TX facilities – Seguin, Schertz, and San Antonio. What You Will Do:

  • Financial analysis & monthly reporting of results for Machining Operations related to the Schertz and San Antonio facilities
  • Presentation and explanation of results to Operations Leadership
  • Team lead for consolidation of Texas Operations monthly results
  • Business decision support for Operations and Supply Chain teams in the facilities
  • Prepare Annual Business Plan (ABP) based on changing business conditions for Machining Operations
  • Normals Product Cost Coordinator for all three IPSD-L Texas facilities
  • Abnormals reporting for product cost rates
  • Determine Internal Rate of Return and NPV for medium/high complexity capital projects
  • Use of business systems/tools including, but not limited to Axiom, Power BI, Tableau and Alteryx


What You Have:

  • Education/ Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.

  • Prior experience with or willingness to learn new tools such as Alteryx, Axiom, Power BI, Tableau, etc

Additional Info:

  • This position is located in Seguin, TX with 2-3 days a week required in Schertz and San Antonio facilities
  • This role requires 5 days a week in office

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
