Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in international tax with an accounting firm, law firm, or in-house tax department.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a Juris Doctor (J.D.).
  • Understanding of mergers and acquisitions, structuring, and the taxation of cross-border transactions, including CFC regimes, foreign tax credit regulations, and withholding tax rules.
  • Ability to operate in a fluid environment and work on multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
  • Excellent research and project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

The International Tax Planning team is a group of tax planning professionals who manage a variety of tax technical matters for Alphabet and Google, helping accelerate business objectives while navigating complex and impactful global tax issues.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $137,000-$201,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Analyze business plans to determine tax impacts of various transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate reorganizations.
  • Partner with other tax specialists and cross-functional teams for transaction implementation.
  • Manage policies and technical requirements for customers withholding taxes and alignment with company foreign tax credit positions, coordinate with operations teams on withholding tax compliance.
  • Provide U.S. tax support for global tax controversies and assist with quarterly and year-end international tax provision and compliance processes.
  • Stay informed with latest tax developments, legislative and regulatory changes, and provision implications, draft memorandum and other communications to provide briefings on key tax issues to management and other tax specialists.
