Key Responsibilities:
Review the design of reusable semantic models and datasets (DAX, star schema) in Fabric/Power BI, aligned to business KPIs and AI-driven use cases.
Oversee the build of high-performing dashboards and reports with drill paths and accessibility, augmented with Power BI Copilot/Q&A and narrative summaries where suitable.
Integrate Databricks outputs (features, predictions, embeddings) via Unity Catalog and “Publish to Power BI,” ensuring consistent governance and RLS/CLS.
Optimize large models and real-time use cases (Direct Lake/DirectQuery, incremental refresh, aggregations) for BI and AI-assisted experiences.
Establish versioning, deployment, and CI/CD for BI/AI artifacts with DevOps; monitor usage, performance, and adoption to drive continuous improvement.
Act as an escalation point for data delivery teams when data visualization engineers need support to complete delivery on time.
Desired Profile:
Technical Experience: 6+ years in analytics/BI with strong Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Tabular modeling) and Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2).
Data Product & Governance: Experience developing governed data products, implementing governance frameworks, metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and data quality controls.
Platform Integration: Working knowledge of Databricks and Unity Catalog to consume curated data, features, and model outputs with consistent governance.
Performance & Scale: Hands-on with Direct Lake/DirectQuery, incremental refresh, aggregations, and optimization of large models.
Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues using automated solutions.
Security & Governance: Experience implementing Unity Catalog/Purview lineage, access controls, secrets management, and compliant deployments.
Communication & Documentation: Clear technical communication and the ability to support globally distributed teams.
Experience working in retail, luxury, and consumer industry is preferred.
Experience producing high-quality documentation: Technical specifications, functional specifications, user playbooks.
Experience working with SAFe Agile framework and driving design reviews, demos, and user training.
