Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced person to join our team at Caterpillar Inc. as a Condition Monitoring Advisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining or construction equipment from experience supporting, managing or monitoring. This role involves working closely with fleet managers, dealers, and/or customers to increase machine availability, decrease total cost of ownership (TCO), and minimize unexpected downtime.

What the candidate will do:

  • Monitor the health of up to 300 Caterpillar machines using the 5 elements of condition monitoring: SOS reports, VIMS/analytic alerts, inspection reports, backlog management, and site conditions.
  • Provide equipment recommendations to Caterpillar dealers and customers aimed at improving machine health and customer value.
  • Prepare health reports for customers and their Caterpillar dealers on a monthly basis.
  • Facilitate customer meetings with Caterpillar dealers, product groups, JSS and others as needed.
  • Builds collaborative relationships & acts as a consultant to Dealers and customers.
  • Assist in the development of predictive analytics to support anomaly detection.

Education requirement:

  • Any engineering or bachelor's degree related to the field.
  • Bilingual (Advanced English a Must)

What Skills you will have:

Data Gathering & Analysis:

  • Advanced knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Demonstrated experienced in identifying machine issues and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in identifying and/or development of predictive analytics.

Service Excellence:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engines, power train, hydraulic systems, Product Link™, VIMS, inspection process, equipment lifecycle planning, S•O•S SM Services, and the Service Information System (SISweb)

Effective Communications:

  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.

Relationship Management:

  • Advanced knowledge in condition monitoring or field follow engineering.
  • Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge with Caterpillar's products and processes is a must (Product Link Elite, VIMS.)
  • Mining or Construction Industry experience in technical roles, and/or Asset Monitoring.
  • Additional Language Skills

Additional information

  • Located in Torre Santa María.
  • Relocation is available.
  • This position will require to travel up to 20% domestic and internationally.
