The Senior Cost Engineer is responsible for overseeing cost estimation, control, and forecasting functions on complex and high-value projects. This senior-level role plays a key part in ensuring financial integrity, risk management, and alignment with budgetary and contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts across all project phases.
- Monitor project expenditures and performance against approved budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Lead cost reporting efforts, including earned value analysis, cash flow projections, and cost performance indices.
- Collaborate with project managers, planners, and procurement teams to ensure cost alignment with project schedules and scopes.
- Evaluate and process change requests, cost impacts, and trend analyses.
- Maintain and update cost control systems and ensure accuracy and consistency in cost data.
- Participate in risk analysis, contingency planning, and cost scenario development.
- Support contract and procurement teams in pricing evaluations and negotiation support.
- Mentor junior cost engineers and contribute to the development of cost control standards and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with client, company, and regulatory cost management procedures.
Requirements
Certified Cost Professional (CCP) with AACE International
Related Experience
7+ years practical experience in the construction
And
5 years Nuclear Power Plant or similar
