As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll lead the charge on forecasting initiatives with real impact across the energy value chain—from load and price predictions to RES generation and capacity planning. If you’re ready to shape the future with data, this role’s for you.
What Your Day Might Look Like:
- Take ownership of high-impact forecasting projects: demand, generation, price, and everything in between.
- Design and build scalable pipelines—from data ingestion to model deployment and live forecast serving.
- Craft smart modeling strategies tuned to the context, the data, and the needs of traders, analysts, and operations teams.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with energy experts, helping turn insight into action.
- Mentor and support mid-level and junior data scientists—review code, offer feedback, and grow together.
- Stay curious: experiment with anomaly detection, new modeling approaches, and smarter features to push the envelope.
- Play a key role in Forecasting R&D and help us stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving domain.
Requirements
Your Superpowers 🚀
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in forecasting, with deep time series expertise.
- Strong track record in model development, feature engineering, uncertainty quantification, and robust deployment.
- Background in the energy domain—experience with electricity markets, load/price forecasting, or RES modeling is a big plus.
- Solid Python skills and familiarity with libraries like Prophet, LightGBM, skforecast—or your favorite forecasting stack.
- Comfort with modern dev tools: Jupyter, VS Code, Git/GitHub, and collaborative environments.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to translate data science into business outcomes.
- Clear communicator who can adapt to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experienced in leading workstreams and mentoring teammates.
Bonus Points For:
- Knowledge of ENTSO-E, ADMIE, or similar data sources.
- Experience in cloud environments like Azure, AWS, or Databricks.
- Building slick dashboards with Streamlit or Gradio to bring forecasts to life.
- Tackling forecasting challenges like cold starts, sparse datasets, or spikes and anomalies.
- A natural curiosity for R&D and a drive to test the boundaries of what forecasting can do.
