Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Design Engineer at its facility located at 200 NE Adams St, Peoria, IL 61602.
Synthesize Voice of Customer and Marketing data to create high value, innovative, efficient, cost-effective work tool designs for the 950-982 Medium Wheel Loader (MWL) platforms that serve customers all over the world in a wide variety of applications. Design control and product development responsibility for the existing 950-982 MWL bucket, fork and material handling arm portfolios as well as new ones developed through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Support downstream global partners and resolve engineering design issues for the end customer. Use Creo 3D modeling and Creo Simulate software packages as well as use knowledge of detailed fabricated structures design and development, which include an understanding of kinematic analysis, measured data analysis and finite element analysis (FEA). Lead and collaborate across functional groups in the design, development and maintenance of MWL/ heavy equipment structural systems. Develop work tools designs for 950-982 MWL platforms. Ensure design meets technical, financial and timeline requirements. Support the team through machine and system level virtual product development simulations. Telecommuting: 2 days/week.
REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical, Agricultural, Aerospace, Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or a closely related field and 6 years of engineering experience including product development or related occupation. In the alternative the employer will also accept a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Agricultural, Aerospace, Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or a closely related field and 3 years of engineering experience including product development or related occupation.
Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Creo and Creo Simulate or similar CAE package; (2) Fabricated structures design and analysis; (3) Bill of Material (BoM) structures and associated engineering releasing systems; and (4) Kinematic analysis, measured data analysis, and engineering releasing systems.
Summary Pay Range:
$131,227.00 - $165,840.00
