We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to support Eightcap’s growth by building, running and optimising our trading platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GoLang, with a proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. This role plays a key part in driving our mission to provide an exceptional experience to both our clients and team.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable applications and features that enhance the user experience on our trading platform.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to promote best coding practices among team members.
  • Architect robust solutions that meet current and future needs of the business.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-impact projects on time.

Innovation & Improvement

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure Eightcap remains competitive in the trading sector.
  • Identify opportunities for system optimization and enhancement and implement improvements based on analysis.
  • Drive initiatives for improved CI/CD processes and automated testing frameworks to strengthen product reliability.

Mentorship & Collaboration

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers to foster their growth and development.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and encourage a collaborative environment across the engineering team.
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and operational stability of applications.

Requirements

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, preferably in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
  • Proficient in Golang with a solid understanding of modern frameworks.
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of database design and management (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), and automated testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment and have a passion for mentoring others.
