Are you passionate about innovation and ready to lead the charge in advanced engineering? Caterpillar’s Building Construction Products (BCP) Division is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager - Technology & Advanced Engineering to drive the next generation of solutions that transform how our customers work.

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of technology strategy and implementation, guiding teams that create cutting-edge solutions in automation, controls, and software. Your transformational leadership will directly influence how Caterpillar utilizes the latest technology to meet and exceed future customer expectations.

What You Will Do (Job Duties)

  • Lead Globally: Manage and inspire leaders across multiple engineering teams, including Advanced Engineering, Advanced Controls, and a newly formed Advanced Software team.
  • Shape the Future: Develop and execute the BCP Technology Multi-Generational Project Plan (MGPP), aligning with product groups and enterprise technology partners.
  • Drive Innovation: Deliver solutions that meet customer needs in automation, controls, software, and electronic components - both now and for the long term.
  • Collaborate Across the Enterprise: Partner with Cat Technology, Cat Digital, and other divisions to ensure BCP customer needs to inform enterprise-wide technology strategies.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Technical Excellence: Strong engineering background with deep knowledge of advanced technologies such as automation, controls, software development, and electronic systems. Experience developing and executing technology roadmaps or global product plans that align with business and customer needs.
  • Communicating for Impact: Ability to clearly articulate complex technical strategies to executives, peers, and global teams, driving alignment and action.
  • Global Collaboration: Demonstrated success leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams and influencing enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Influencing Through Expertise: Recognized as a trusted technical leader who leverages expertise to shape decisions and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Managing People: Significant experience as a senior leader managing other leaders, building high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of innovation.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Experience driving the adoption of advanced technologies and automation across multiple product lines.
  • Background working across multiple divisions, influencing strategies and aligning priorities at an enterprise level.
  • Deep understanding of heavy equipment, automotive, or construction industries, with the ability to translate industry trends into innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear concise communication and actions.

Additional Info:

  • Office Model: This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • Travel: 15% domestic and international travel is expected.
  • Relocation: Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify.

Summary Pay Range:

$169,320.00 - $253,920.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
