Our technology stack is mostly based on PHP, React and AWS. We like acronyms such as TDD, BDD and DDD. We employ more than 60 engineers spread across various Squads of 5-8 people, with a structure inspired by the Spotify Model.
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our TLMS team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in React, as well as a strong understanding of web development best practices. They will be responsible for working closely with fellow developers, as well as our product and design teams to ensure that our applications are both functional and user-friendly.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Frontend Engineer on our Scrum team of 4-6 people, you will:
- Utilise React and Typescript to build and maintain robust web applications.
- Work closely with fellow Frontend, Backend, and QA engineers, as well as Product Managers to deliver high-quality features.
- Collaborate with Designers to translate Figma designs into responsive and user-friendly pages.
- Extend and maintain our Design System (Gnosis) using StorybookUI to ensure design consistency and scalability.
- Write and maintain unit tests using Jest to ensure code reliability and robustness.
- Perform thorough code reviews, striving to write clean, modular, and well-tested code following best practices.
- Utilise tools and libraries such as Emotion (styled-components) for styling, Zustand for state management, and React Query (with Axios) for API handling.
Requirements
To be successful in this role as a Senior Frontend Engineer, you should:
- Have significant experience as a React frontend engineer, with a proven track record of handling complex web applications.
- Have a strong desire to contribute to the growth of the engineering team by participating in interviews, mentoring junior engineers, and offering precise, actionable feedback to peers.
- Have good communication with other departments and teams and effectively communicate complex concepts to others for alignment and understanding.
- Be highly proficient in JavaScript ES6+, TypeScript, and related frontend technologies.
- Be experienced in consuming RESTful APIs and integrating them into frontend applications.
- Be proficient in using Git for version control.
- Be comfortable working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
- Be reliable and dependable, delivering high-quality work on time.
- Be adaptable and open to feedback, always striving to improve and innovate.
- Be kind, dedicated, and helpful, and appreciate working with people who share the same qualities.
- Have a university degree in software engineering or can justify equivalent experience and knowledge.
