Role Overview
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Risk & Chargeback Specialist to join our Risk Operations team. This role is designed to be responsible for handling chargebacks, supporting underwriting workflows, and occasionally assisting with ongoing risk monitoring. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-sufficient, and comfortable navigating multiple systems and operational priorities within a fintech/payments environment.
What You’ll Do
- Own and deliver core Ampliphi product features, from backend architecture to frontend execution
- Work closely with product to build user-centric, data-driven experiences
- Integrate with external systems like PMS, OTAs, and rate distribution (channel manager) gateways
- Contribute to the AI and rules engine that powers pricing recommendations, explainability, and automated strategies
- Contribute to system architecture and help evolve our modular, scalable microservice design
- Mentor mid-level developers and influence team best practices
Requirements
- Tech Stacks You’ll Work With
- Backend: Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL, async processing, containerized services (Docker, ECS/Fargate)
- Frontend: React (with TypeScript), Tailwind, Recharts, Next.js
- Infrastructure: AWS (Fargate, Lambda, RDS, S3), CloudWatch, API Gateway
- DevOps & Tooling: GitHub Actions, Terraform (infra-as-code), feature flags
- Integrations: 3rd party data providers
- Data Layer: Pricing strategy rules engine, comp set analytics, AI inference services
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience in a fast-moving product environment
- Deep experience with Python-based APIs (FastAPI preferred) and React-based UIs
- Experience building AI-powered product features
- Strong understanding of modular system design, async jobs, and data flow between services
- Experience working in AWS-native environments (Fargate, RDS, ECS, etc.)
- Strong appreciation for clean UI/UX, thoughtful APIs, and maintainable code
- Ability to collaborate with product and weigh trade-offs between scalability, speed, and usability
- Interest in working on pricing, optimization, and AI-powered workflows
