About the role

As a Senior Functional QA Analyst, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications through rigorous manual testing and data validation. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering & Assurance team and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and business analysts.

In this role, you will:

  • Assess software quality through manual testing and validate data using SQL queries.
  • Evaluate APIs and web services using tools like Postman or SOAP UI.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand dependencies and ensure seamless integration.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot test failures, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Document testing phases, defects, and contribute to post-release testing efforts.

What you need to have to be considered:

  • 6–9 years of experience in functional testing within an Agile environment.
  • Strong proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries (simple to complex).
  • Hands-on experience testing APIs and web services.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA for test case management and execution.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.

These will help you stand out:

  • Experience conducting post-release and post-implementation testing.
  • Ability to evaluate product code against specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills to detect and report bugs and glitches.
  • Familiarity with creating detailed logs and documentation for defects and testing phases.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between [$53,477– $92,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
