Job Description
The Senior Human Resources Specialist at Elve is responsible for designing and implementing programs and initiatives that enhance employee experience and company productivity throughout the employment lifecycle. This role involves collaborating with the Elve team to execute talent recruiting, retention, onboarding, payroll, compensation, and benefits. The Senior Human Resources Specialist will be involved in organizing team-building activities and cultivating an effective work culture and employee joy as we continue to grow. The Senior Human Resources Specialist will also assist with corporate spending programs that will enhance employee empowerment. The Senior Human Resources Specialist will report to one of the members of Elve's senior leadership. This is a full-time position with opportunities for creativity and impact.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the Senior Human Resources Specialist will include, but are not limited to:
- Recruiting and Onboarding:
- Lead the recruiting process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and conducting and coordinating interviews, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Support onboarding new employees, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
- Compensation and Benefits:
- Assist in the administration of compensation and benefits programs, including the accurate preparation of the Company's semi-monthly payroll via an online service provider.
- Provide information and guidance to employees regarding compensation and benefits.
- Perform compensation research
- Employee Relations:
- Address employee inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Resolve employee relations issues.
- In conjunction with team leaders, develop and deploy career ladder and leveling programs plus other organizational development activities
- Assist team leaders with performance reviews and tracking of on-the-job training.
- Arrange and contribute to the success of team days, company retreats, and similar events
- Corporate Spending Programs:
- Assist in the administration and management of company spending (corporate credit card) programs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to spending programs.
- Assist in developing and implementing improvements to spending programs.
- Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Other HR Functions:
- Assist in offboarding departing employees
- Other HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Liaise with external advisors (HR specialists, attorneys, accounting firms, etc.) as required.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or relevant field
- Proven experience in human resources, employee relations, or organizational development
- Strong understanding of employee engagement practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to analyze employee feedback and implement improvements
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- At least 5 years of experience in human resources
- Experience in recruiting and onboarding processes and best practices, preferably using an Applicant Tracking System (Workable or similar)
- Experience with HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance, preferably through an integrated online provider (Rippling or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in organizing employee events and activities
- Experience with expense management and corporate credit card systems
- Experience in a startup or growth stage company
- Appropriate math skills, including at least some accounting or bookkeeping experience
