About the role

As a Senior backend developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. With a focus on Java 7/11, Spring boot with Node.JS, Django, and Flask, you will contribute to innovative solutions that drive business success. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with other stakeholders and teams.

In this role, you will:

· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications.

· Design and document scalable, secure, and reliable system architectures.

· Set, enforce, and update technical standards, architecture patterns, and coding guidelines across projects.

· Ensure that all systems meet security, compliance, and quality standards required by the organization.

· Communicate with end-users (clients) and interact with technical teams.

· Troubleshoot end-user’s issues and determine the root cause of the issue.

· Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to the end-users.

· Learn end-to-end flow for new applications.

· Monitor applications, handle outages/maintenance/upgrade activities.

What you need to have to be considered:

· Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related, and 6+ years of relevant experience in java Backend development programming.

· Must work 5-days in Office at Plano, Texas location and Work from home not allowed, Full Background check required.

· We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with a strong background in Sprint boot, MVC and Micro services.

· Experience and skills with Build and automation tools (Jules, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and performance standards.

· Banking domain experience.

· High level of experience in Java 7/11, Spring boot with NodeJS, ExpressJS, Django, and Flask.

· Micro services, DynamoDB, and MongoDB.

· Automation - Jules, Jenkins, GitLab, CI/CD.

Salary and compensation:

The annual salary for this position will depends on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
