Senior Java Developer

Cognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Lead Java Engineer with experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. Our engineers have a passion for high-quality, reliable and maintainable code. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust software applications using AWS Spring Boot and Core Java to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and efficient software solutions.
• Ensure the quality and performance of applications through rigorous testing and debugging processes.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers to foster a collaborative team environment.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve development practices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and reliability of software systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
• Document software designs technical specifications and project plans for future reference.
• Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
• Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications

• Possess strong expertise in AWS Spring Boot and Core Java with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of software development principles and best practices.
• Experience in the Cards & Payments domain is highly desirable and will be considered a plus.
• Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new skills as required by project demands.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality software solutions within specified timelines.
