Location - California, Sunnyvale

Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver medium to large-scale engineering projects by translating requirements into scalable solutions, writing code, testing, and ensuring timely delivery.

• Manage small teams, including offshore members, by providing technical guidance, reviewing designs and code, and driving quality outcomes.

• Troubleshoot production issues through root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical queries and support business needs.

• Drive project discovery and design phases with cross-functional teams to define architecture and secure approvals.

• Apply technical expertise to improve development practices and mentor team members.

• Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to implement business solutions and adapt to changing priorities.

• Promote compliance with company policies and foster a culture of integrity and accountability.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficient in core Java and J2EE technologies

• Extensive experience with Java Spring and Spring Boot frameworks

• Skilled in designing and developing large-scale microservices for high-performance, scalable platforms

• Deep understanding of NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and MongoDB

• Strong expertise in messaging systems, particularly Kafka

• Practical experience with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Solid grasp of architectural design principles for building resilient and scalable systems

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for the position is between $60,000– $93,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
