We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our growing Legal & Compliance team in New Zealand. You’ll support the General Counsel, collaborate with other Senior Legal Counsels, and lead 2 direct reports across a diverse, high-impact portfolio, from contracts and compliance to innovation, employment law, and privacy.

We have offices expanding across multiple locations in New Zealand and Australia. This role will be based in our Auckland office.

Your day-to-day... 

• Lead high-priority contract negotiations and oversee contract management processes 

• Provide legal and compliance advice across marketing, customer experience, product innovation, and new projects 

• Advise on employment matters, workplace relations, IP, privacy, and data governance 

• Monitor and manage legal, regulatory, and compliance risks — ensuring systems are effective and forward-looking 

• Engage with regulators, industry bodies, and external stakeholders on key legal matters and reforms 

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing legal team 

You're a match if you ideally have... 

• 8+ years PAE in commercial law (in-house or private practice), ideally in a regulated or tech-driven industry 

• Broad legal expertise across commercial contracts, corporate governance, compliance frameworks (including AML/CTF), privacy, IP, employment, and disputes 

• Strategic, solutions-focused mindset balancing commercial outcomes with legal and regulatory obligations 

• Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills 

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and time management
