Our client, a leading financial institution in Tanzania, is in search of a Senior Manager for Digital Operation and Compliance to oversee its digital banking operations while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory policies and operational standards. This pivotal role demands a keen understanding of digital banking processes, risk management, and compliance frameworks.

The Senior Manager will work closely with IT, compliance, and operational teams to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency while mitigating risk. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities to drive the organization’s digital transformation agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance digital banking operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor digital operations and compliance to identify areas of improvement and implement best practices.
  • Lead the risk assessment process for new digital products and services to ensure operational readiness and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the digital space.
  • Oversee the onboarding and training of staff on digital operations and compliance protocols.
  • Manage audits and reviews related to digital banking operations to ensure adherence to established policies.
  • Analyze operational performance metrics to improve service delivery and compliance standards.
  • Report to senior management on key compliance and operational metrics, trends, and potential risks.
  • Stay updated on emerging regulatory changes and technological advancements impacting digital banking operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in compliance or risk management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in digital operations, compliance, or risk management within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements affecting digital banking.
  • Proven experience in managing digital operations and compliance initiatives effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Experience in implementing operational improvements and efficiency initiatives.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interface effectively with various departments.
  • Proficient in using digital tools and technologies relevant to banking operations.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
  • A proactive approach to compliance issues with a risk-based mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while managing multiple priorities.
