Job Summary

We are looking for an accomplished Senior MuleSoft Integration Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale integration solutions. The role requires deep hands-on expertise with MuleSoft Cloud Hub, on-premise deployments, and API management, coupled with a strong Java and system integration background. You will ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing integrations, while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that drive organizational success.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Charlotte, NC.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using MuleSoft (CloudHub, on-premise) and API Manager.
• Implement robust API security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Maven, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, and MuleSoft.
• Develop MUnit test cases to ensure high-quality, reliable integrations.
• Perform message transformation, validation, routing, and orchestration across diverse systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, to align technology solutions with business needs.
• Manage complex workloads, prioritize tasks, and work with minimal supervision.
• Document solutions comprehensively and mentor team members on best practices.
• Follow Agile development principles and adhere strictly to SDLC methodology.

Qualifications

Required:

• 6 years of overall software development experience with a strong Java and integration background.
• 6–7 years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft CloudHub, on-premise deployments, and API management.
• Advanced skills in Java, JSON, XML, and messaging queues (JMS, MSMQ, Active MQ).
• Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle.
• Strong knowledge of API design using RAML.
• Proven experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise in Agile methodologies and building automated test cases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation.

Preferred:

• Hands-on experience with Mule 3.x and 4.x.
• Experience in solution architecture for enterprise integration projects.
• Ability to coach or mentor other developers.
