About the role

As a Senior Playwright Automation QA, you will make an impact by designing and implementing robust test automation frameworks for UI and API testing using Playwright. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering and Assurance team and work collaboratively with onshore and offshore teams, business stakeholders, and technical leads to ensure high-quality software delivery.


In this role, you will:

  • Develop automation frameworks for UI and API testing from scratch using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript and Cucumber BDD.
  • Set up CI/CD pipelines and integrate manual scripts into automated workflows.
  • Lead functional, regression, and automation testing efforts across projects.
  • Host business walkthroughs to review test artifacts and coordinate with offshore teams.
  • Guide offshore teams on technical issues related to automation frameworks and processes.
  • Participate in requirement sessions and technical design reviews.
  • Provide daily status updates, issue tracking, and roadblock reporting to stakeholders.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Richardson, TX. What you need to have to be considered

  • 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including leading QA efforts in an onshore/offshore model.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Ability to perform Automation, Functional and Regression Testing.
  • Proven experience in manual and automated testing.
  • Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks from scratch for UI and API using Playwright, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Cucumber BDD.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman and SoapUI.
  • Expertise in setting up CI/CD integrations from scratch.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

  • Experience in the healthcare PBM domain.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and microservices architecture.
  • Exposure to B2C authentication mechanisms.
  • Ability to drive technical discussions and mentor offshore teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and reporting skills.
