Senior QA Engineer (Cucumber & Selenium automation)

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Selenium, BDD, and Cucumber to join our QEA team in a permanent role. You will design, implement, and execute comprehensive test strategies, frameworks, and automation to ensure high-quality software delivery, while collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements and continuously improve QA best practices. In this role, you will:

• Overall accountable and responsible for the success of the test effort for a project, including test planning, test preparation, and test execution.
• Design develop automation test scripts using Java & Selenium WebDriver.
• Implement maintain BDD frameworks with Cucumber.
• Automation of functional tests at different levels; data driven, using object-oriented methodologies, and APIs.
• Troubleshoot issues related to automation scripts execution and provide timely resolutions.
• Understand and handle the git flow, meaning tests align with development. The test code should be treated as part of the system code, using the same tools as a developer and the same version management methodology.
• Log, track, and verify defects using tools like Azure DevOps and Jira.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and create test plans that meet business needs.
• Participate in Agile development methodologies (Scrum) to deliver high-quality products on time.

What you need to have to be considered

• 7-10 years of overall testing and test automation development experience.
• Must have 6+ or more years of software development experience with Java, Cucumber, Selenium, Gherkin.
• Must have recent 2+ years of experience with Cucumber, BDD methodology, Gherkin syntax.
• Mua have 2+ years of experience using SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL profiling skills / performance tuning SQL.
• Demonstrated experience working in an Agile Delivery Model.
• Knowledge of CI / CD general and as it applies to automation of tests.
• Experience with test management tools (TestRail, Azure DevOps Test Plans).
• Mentor Test members and coordinates test effort for various projects.

This will help you stand out:

• Experience with Healthcare Domain.
• Experience with Playwright automation is nice to have.
• Good to have understanding on Gen AI.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between [$53,000– $90,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
