Senior Revenue Officer

Are you an experienced Revenue Officer ready for a new challenge?

A Regional Victorian council, based in Cobram, has an immediate opening for a Senior Revenue Officer to join their finance team for an initial three-month contract. This role is available due to an internal promotion and offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a supportive and dynamic council.

This employer offers a flexible, hybrid work model, with the option to work from home at least two days per week.

About the Role:

You'll be responsible for maintaining the council's property, valuation, and rating database, and overseeing all debt collection activities to ensure maximum revenue collection. You will report directly to the Revenue Coordinator.

What We're Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Significant experience in a rates, revenue, or debt recovery environment.

• A comprehensive understanding of rating, valuations, and property administration.

• Extensive knowledge of debt collection processes and the Local Government Act 1989.

• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information.

• High-level computer skills and experience with relevant software, particularly property management software like Authority.

• A proven ability to work independently and without constant supervision.

• Understanding and experience in the operations of local government.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Qualifications in property management, law, or finance.

• Understanding of the ACCC Debt Collection Guidelines.
