On-site

Where Data Does More. Join the Snowflake team.

There is only one Data Cloud. Snowflake's founders started from scratch and designed a data platform built for the cloud that is effective, affordable, and accessible to all data users. But it didn't stop there. They engineered Snowflake to power the Data Cloud, where thousands of organizations unlock the value of their data with near-unlimited scale, concurrency, and performance. This is our vision: a world with endless insights to tackle the challenges and opportunities of today and reveal the possibilities of tomorrow.

The Developer Platform team is on a mission to win the hearts and minds of developers by making it seamless and intuitive to build with data. We are forming a new Ecosystem Team to own, support, and strategically grow the ecosystem of partners building on top of Snowflake. This team will have a direct impact on our customers and revenue by taking ownership of critical connectors and tools that drive millions in monthly credits, such as our SQLAlchemy and Tableau integrations. You will be at the forefront of ensuring developers have a world-class experience, enabling them to integrate Snowflake into their workflows and build the next generation of data applications.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Ecosystem team, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of major features for the REST API platform and various ecosystem tools.

  • Take a prominent role in open-source projects, engaging with the developer community, and driving resolutions for complex issues with key connectors like SQLAlchemy and Tableau.

  • Mentor and guide other engineers on the team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

  • Work with a variety of languages including Java, Python, and Go to build and support tools like the Terraform Provider and other critical ecosystem integrations.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and technical leaders to define the roadmap and translate customer requirements into cutting-edge new capabilities.

  • Architect and solve complex challenges related to fault-tolerance, high availability, performance, and scale in a distributed environment.

  • Own the operational readiness of our services and uphold our commitments to customers regarding reliability and performance.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and serve as an escalation point for complex production issues.

Our Ideal Senior Software Engineer will have:

  • 5+ years of industry experience designing, building, and supporting complex software in a production environment.

  • A proven track record of technical leadership, including mentoring other engineers and driving projects to completion.

  • Deep expertise in Java and Python is required.

  • Extensive experience with systems programming, including multi-threading, concurrency, and related concepts.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, with a demonstrated ability to solve complex issues in a cloud environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for collaborating with a diverse group of colleagues and external developers.

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience.

Bonus points for experience with the following:

  • Experience with Go, JavaScript, or XML.

  • Experience building and designing customer-facing distributed web services and APIs (e.g., REST, RPC) at scale.

  • Deep knowledge of SQL or other database technologies, including their internal design and implementation.

  • Familiarity with public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
